Texting is genuinely fine, and often better: photographs of the markings tell us more in ten seconds than a description does in ten minutes. Send them straight to that number.

Where we go

What to have ready
Nothing, if you’d rather just ring. If you want a number quickly, these are what actually move an offer along:
- Photographs of both sides, in ordinary daylight, no flash.
- Any markings — the maker, the model, and anything stamped on the barrel or frame.
- Boxes, papers and tools if they exist. On the right gun they’re a real part of the total.
- Roughly how many, if it’s a collection. Six and sixty are different conversations.
And the one thing not to do: don’t clean anything. Removing original finish is permanent and it comes straight off the price.
